Modkat XL - Setup
The Modkat XL can be configured as either a top-entry or front-entry litter box. Choose the setup that best suits your cat’s habits and your home, then follow the corresponding instructions below.

Top-Entry Configuration
Top-entry instructions
Install the front cover: Place the front cover so the “mouse-ear” tabs are positioned inside the base and the logo tab protrudes through the front opening. Tilt the cover forward until it sits securely in place.
Assemble the lid frame and liner hooks: Slide the four liner hooks into place on the underside of the two lid-frame halves. Push firmly until it snaps into place and rests against the back edge of the frame. Then connect the frame halves together until they fit snugly.
Install the lid frame: Align the eight frame tabs to their coinciding notches on the base. Press down each tab evenly until the frame is secure.
Insert the liner: Place the Modkat TYPE-C Liner (identified by the blue tag) inside the base. Secure the four liner grommets to the corner hooks on the underside of the lid frame.
Install the lid: Position the lid on top of the frame, insert the lid’s side tabs into the frame notches, and slide the lid back into place until it engages securely.
Hang the scoop: Insert the scoop tab into the notch on either side of the litter box to store it conveniently.
Wait, don’t toss that empty parts-pack carton! Punch out the perforated holes on the sides and top to turn it into a fun interactive cat toy. Drop in the included ping pong ball and your cat can bat it around inside the carton through the holes for endless play.
Pro Tips
• To help your cat adjust, add a scoop of litter from their old box into Modkat
• Maintain 3–4 inches of litter to allow your cat to sufficiently bury their waste

Insert and secure the liner: Place the Modkat TYPE-D Liner (identified by the blue tag) inside the base with the open side facing forward. Secure the four liner grommets to the corner hooks on the underside of the lid frame.
Install the walk-off platform: Hold the liner’s front tab, then slide the walk-off platform down over the liner and the front edge of the litter box until it fits securely into place.
Install the lid: Position the lid on top of the frame, insert the lid’s side tabs into the frame notches, and slide the lid back into place until it engages securely.
Hang the scoop: Insert the scoop tab into the notch on either side of the litter box to store it conveniently.
